I was honoured recently to be asked to photograph Kate & Neil’s wedding at Burghley House in Stamford. this was a last minute arrangement as their photographer they had originally booked had fallen ill and couldn’t do the shoot. Usually it’s hard for me to fit in last minute shoots like this as the diary is often booked up for weeks / months in advance but I had planned a rare day off and they asked so nicely…. I couldn’t resist.
I was called at 8am and by 10am I was at Burghley House, camera in hand and ready to go. I know winter weddings are normally cold but oh my word, I’m glad I’d wrapped up warm as it was a frosty, freezing day. They couldn’t have chosen a more gorgeous location, Burghley House stands out from the crowded wedding venue market by a long way for me and offers up some great photo opportunities both inside and around the grounds outside.
Neil asked me nicely to avoid putting images of him on my site so today you get a bridal portrait that I did of the lovely Kate on her own, who very kindly allowed me to show this photo. As a wedding photographer I always ask the couple what they are happy with me sharing, weddings are often private and intimate occasions and I’m never going to break that client trust by posting everything of their day on my site without their express permission.
A big thanks to both Kate & Neil for allowing me to photograph their wedding for them, I wish you a healthy and happy future together.
