The Rat Race Dirty weekend is very simply one of my favourite events of the year to go along and photograph. Set on the picturesque lands of Burghley house within Stamford, Lincolnshire, UK the 20 mile assault course features some 200 obstacles to overcome along the way!
This one isn’t for the faint-hearted, mud jumps, monkey bars, river crossings, inflatable obstacles, hay bales, camo-nets and even a sack race were all part of this grueling assault course.
The great thing about an event like this is everybody wants to be involved with the photographs because they want something to show their friends on Facebook or Twitter, they want a memory of the day and when you point a camera in their direction, you can very frequently see them strike a pose and get involved!
As an event photographer in Stamford I want people to know what they can expect from me when they hire me and it’s impossible for me to upload a whole day’s images from an event as it would simply take far too long to load, so the below gallery is the first hours work from the event I covered. 1 hour, 60 minutes, no less, no more.
I tried to cover a number of different obstacles to ensure that I gave a good variety of photographs from the day, I spent the best part of 6 hours at the event covering the runners from start to finish you’ll appreciate how many final images were delivered and hence not being able to post them all.
I hope this gives a good indication as to what you can expect should you hire me for your event photography.
