Surf Photography FAQ's

Where Will This Photoshoot Take Place?

Your surf photography session will take place at Towan Beach in Newquay, Cornwall, UK.

Paul is able to travel to other locations throughout Cornwall, the UK and abroad however please do get in contact rather than using to online booking system for availability and pricing.

I’m Only A Beginner / Intermediate Surfer, Is This OK?

Your current level of ability is no issue when it comes to capturing photographs of you surfing. If your a beginner who is learning to surf, we’ll capture those first times you get up on the board for you to treasure forever. If your are an intermediate surfer who is improving all the time, we’ll capture the best shots we can of you within your limits and if your a pro, well then we’re going to have a lot of fun seeing what you can do!

Can I Hire You To Photograph My Surf Lessons?

Yes for sure! If you are a surf instructor looking for somebody to attend your classes to photograph them, just book in a time and date using the online booking system and Paul will be there ready to go.

If you are taking part in a surf lesson, please check with the instructor that they are happy for Paul to attend prior to booking. If they are happy, it’s not a problem at all and he will be happy to attend.

How Long Does A Standard Session Last?

A typical surf photography session will last up to 90 minutes. This gives us enough time to ensure we capture some great shots of you in action without having to rush.

You can choose a longer session time during the booking process should you wish.

Can We Book As A Group?

Yes you are paying for Paul’s time so he is happy to photograph as many people in your group as you’d like him too during the session.

IMPORTANT: If your group is large, you obviously won’t get as many photographs of everybody involved with the 90 minute session and we cannot guarantee you will get epic shots of everyone involved in the time either. Paul will always do his best, but 1-2-1 or smaller groups are always more sensible and deliver best results.

How Many Images Will I Receive?

You’ll typically receive 20+ images from the session, though often more. If we have banger’s on the camera, we won’t keep them from you, we want you sharing them with the world and telling everybody who took them!

Can I Re-arrange If The Surf / Weather Isn’t Good?

We need 7 day’s notice for any changes to your booking. If your session falls within the next 7 days then we won’t be able to change it unfortunately. Your session will carry on regardless of the weather or surf conditions.

What Is The Refund Policy?

Our Refund & Cancellation Policy Can Be Found Here.

  • From start to finish booking and participating in my surf photography session with Paul was an absolute joy. I booked in on the website at a time and date that suited me without fuss, this was followed up a little while later with a personal email from Paul confirming the booking and giving me all the information I needed to know along with a bunch of questions to tailor my experience for my abilities. I arrived on the day and Paul was already there, suited up and waiting to jump in the water with me. I was really surprised by the size of the camera housing he lugs out into the sea and that he just swims out with fins and no board! We'd chatted on the beach about the plan of action for when we were in the water and Paul was constantly communicating with me through the session and letting me know what was working and what wasn't. The photos are just incredible, far better than I ever imagined, I look like I know what I am doing! If you are thinking of doing it then don't hesitate, my social media lit up after posting these and I even printed one out for my office. Thanks Paul, I'll be back for round two soon.
