A photographic holiday with professional photographer Paul David Smith photographing the beautiful mountains, waterfalls, castles and landscapes of Snowdonia in Wales.
From Friday 12th – Monday 15th October 2018 we’ll be taking 4 photographers with us to beautiful Snowdonia in Wales. By keeping the numbers small we’ll ensure that everybody will have plenty of one on one time with Paul to develop your landscape photography skills, ensuring you will capture some stunning photographs to build your portfolio.
Paul David Smith is a professional photographer with over 10 years’ experience. Loving nothing more than spending a weekend trekking through the mountains and finding exciting landscapes, Paul will guide you through the weekend covering many subjects including:
There are some solid rules with landscape photography that will improve your photograph’s from day one, so we’ll cover these. Then we’ll break the rules, go completely off piste and get creative.
Location Hunting/Chasing The Light
Being in the right location at the right time of the day is all about preparation. We’ll cover how we choose our locations and why. Often However, we’ll end up chasing the light through the mountains as we search out the best images Snowdonia has to offer us.
Want to learn how to blur waterfalls or create perfectly still lakes regardless of what the weather is doing? Long exposure photography is a landscape photographers best friend.
Photoshop is a wonderful thing, however its no substitute for getting it right in camera. ND / Grads / Polorisers / etc. allow you to make sure you get the exposure right in camera, each and every time and we’ll be covering the use of filters in depth.
You may not associate landscape photography with drones, however some of Paul’s favourite images have come from a birdseye perspective, especially in the mountains. We’ll have the Phantom drone with us and will use this to capture images from a perspective we otherwise just wouldn’t be able to achieve.
Photoshop / Lightroom / etc. allow you to take good images from the camera and polish them to make them great. We’ll be covering how we edit our photos and teach you plenty of tips and tricks in Lightroom and Photoshop to speed up your post processing.
