A professional surf photographer in Newquay, Cornwall, UK. Paul David Smith offers private 1-2-1 and group surfing photography sessions allowing you to capture professional images of yourself out in the ocean catching some waves. No matter your ability, from beginners to seasoned pro’s, Paul is happy to work closely with you to capture your surf session.
Paul will swim out into the surf with you giving you unique from the water shots that can’t be replicated by from the land. He will come out with you rain or shine, epic swell or calm summer days there is no place he is happier with his waterproof camera and swim fins. Once out in the water the hard work begins and you can either work together to plan shots that will look great on camera, or do your thing and Paul will ensure he puts himself in the right place to capture you in your element.
Your surf photography session will take place at either Towan Beach, Crantock Beach, Porth, Watergate Bay, Mawgan Porth or Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall, UK. You are able to select your preference between these beaches when booking.
Paul is able to travel to other locations throughout Cornwall, the UK and abroad however please do get in contact rather than using to online booking system for availability and pricing.
Your current level of ability is no issue when it comes to capturing photographs of you surfing. If your a beginner who is learning to surf, we’ll capture those first times you get up on the board for you to treasure forever. If your are an intermediate surfer who is improving all the time, we’ll capture the best shots we can of you within your limits and if your a pro, well then we’re going to have a lot of fun seeing what you can do!
Yes for sure! If you are a surf instructor looking for somebody to attend your classes to photograph them, just book in a time and date using the online booking system and Paul will be there ready to go.
If you are taking part in a surf lesson, please check with the instructor that they are happy for Paul to attend prior to booking. If they are happy, it’s not a problem at all and he will be happy to attend.
A typical surf photography session will last up to 90 minutes. This gives us enough time to ensure we capture some great shots of you in action without having to rush.
You can choose a longer session time during the booking process should you wish.
Yes you are paying for Paul’s time so he is happy to photograph as many people in your group as you’d like him too during the session.
IMPORTANT: If your group is large, you obviously won’t get as many photographs of everybody involved with the 90 minute session and we cannot guarantee you will get epic shots of everyone involved in the time either. Paul will always do his best, but 1-2-1 or smaller groups are always more sensible and deliver best results.
You’ll typically receive 20+ images from the session, though often more. If we have banger’s on the camera, we won’t keep them from you, we want you sharing them with the world and telling everybody who took them!
We need 7 day’s notice for any changes to your booking. If your session falls within the next 7 days then we won’t be able to change it unfortunately. Your session will carry on regardless of the weather or surf conditions.
