For the past 10 years I’ve been teaching photography and videography to people all over the country. I absolutely love teaching, it is entirely rewarding to see someone join a course with a vision of what they want to achieve and helping them to get there by the end of the course.
So, after years of teaching photography and videography through my main website, I’ve finally given the videography side of things its own website and VideographyWorkshops.com is now live. Videography has become a much bigger part of what I teach, so it made sense to give it a proper home of its own. The new site gives me more room to build out specific workshops, answer common questions properly, and make the videography side of things feel a bit less hidden away.
The aim with the new website is to expand upon my existing offering of videography courses and launch new courses targeting specific areas of videography. I’ve been lucky enough over 25 years to work with some of the biggest companies in the filmmaking space and I’m looking forward to sharing some of the learnings I’ve had from these experiences in more specific areas of filmmaking and videography.
I’ve launched 2 new courses over on the new website already, a B-Roll Filming course and an interview / talking heads video workshop. Both of these are areas I’ve a lot of experience and my plans for the two new courses are to make them hands on, enjoyable and practical, so everybody who attends gets lots of chance to practice their new skills.
I’ve always preferred teaching in a very practical way. There is only so much you can learn from watching someone talk about cameras. On these workshops, the plan is to get people filming, reviewing what they’ve shot, fixing mistakes, and building confidence through actually making videos.
I’ve started with B-roll and interview / talking head workshops because they are two areas people ask me about all the time. They’re also two areas where a few simple changes can make a huge difference. You don’t always need more equipment, you usually just need a clearer process and a bit of practice.
As we go forward I will expand out these offerings, I’ve lots of great ideas for new courses and equally new areas of the country I’d like to run them in. At the moment I’m sticking to major cities, but I will certainly be looking for additional areas to expand these as the website and offering grows.
It’s early days, but it feels good to finally have somewhere proper for this side of the business to live and I’m excited to see it grow in the future!

The new website is looking great mate, so pleased to see you going from strength to strength! The course you ran with us last year was fantastic and I was literally just on your website to see if you do a follow up course for it so we can both keep learning.
