About Professional Photographer Paul David Smith?

You will not meet somebody who focuses as much time and attention towards photography and filmmaking as Paul does, it has quite simply dominated his life since a very early age and there is nothing he enjoys more than sharing his learnings with others and seeing them progressing on their own photography journey.

Paul has been lucky enough to work with some large clients such as the BBC, SKY, National Geographic and many others. During this time he’s travelled the world with his photography overcoming a wealth of photographic challenges for his clients. It’s these years of experience he relies upon in order to help people progress with their own photography.

He’d describe himself as a very relaxed person who runs informal workshops where people are encouraged to get involved, ask questions, make mistakes and most importantly learn in a fun and friendly environment.

  • "Paul's 1 day photography workshop really helped me a lot with my aim of taking better better photographs. I was fairly competent with the technical part of setting up a camera but just didn't like the photographs that I was getting still. Paul spent some time with me ensuring we were on the same page about settings and whilst I thought I knew a lot, I still learnt a lot in a very short amount of time. We then spent the majority of the course looking at lighting, composition, story-telling and angles. I was blown away by just how much of a difference his ideas and thoughts made to my images. These aren't difficult to understand concepts, he just pointed out things that I hadn't thought about and I realised just how much I would be able to improve my photos by implementing these alone. This was a fantastic course, well worth the money."

  • "It is fair to say that I haven't ever been on a course where the ideas and techniques that are being taught are broken down in such a simple and easy to learn way. Paul is as good a teacher as he is a photographer which really sets him apart from other courses I have been on in the past. I think lots of photographers are good at what they do but just don't know how to impart that knowledge onto others. I left Paul's course feeling entirely confident that whilst I needed to practice what he'd taught me, I would be able to do everything that I'd been taught and it would make a clear improvement with my photos. I really enjoyed spending a day with Paul, he is very likeable and confident in what he teaches. I feel like this is one of the best investments I have ever made in my photography and I've spent a lot on gear!"
